�MOVIN� ON UP� COULD BE THE THEME FOR THE SUMMERSIDE OFFICE OF COX AND PALMER
Attorney David Hooley, QC, said the firm has outgrown its office space at 88 Summer St. and a larger location had to be found. �We just ran out of space,� Hooley said from the firm�s Charlottetown office. �Expanding the old heritage home that we currently occupy, we did look into that,� he said.
�We had an architect look at it for cost, benefit and functionality and so on, and concluded that we would be better advised to relocate in order to get some additional space.� Hooley said the firm wanted to be in the downtown area of the city and investigated various possibilities there.
Hooley said the firm wanted to be in the downtown area of the city and investigated various possibilities there. �We eventually decided that the Holman complex was a good place to be,� he said. �It�s very central. It�s a nice redevelopment of that old property. It had enough space, actually more space than we need.�
Hooley didn�t know the exact square footage of the new office space but did say that it was more than double what the firm has now. �There are some great views from some of the windows in particular,� Hooley said. �There are some water views and views up Water Street and so on. It�s a nice building and it has been sensitively redeveloped by the Summerside Regional Development Corporation.
�We�re looking forward to the move. It relieves some pressure on space from where we are now.� Hooley said the present location has served the firm well for a number of years but with the addition of staff larger quarters were needed. �It just got to the point where it was too crowded and we needed more space.�
