- Holman Property Redevelopment
- March 2007 SRDC purchased the RT Holman property located in downtown Summerside. This property built in 1857 served as the hub of the town of Summerside for over 135 years. Over the past 20 years or so, the building (in need of repair) changed ownership several times gradually depreciating both in value and influence.
Because of the historic value, many people thought the building should be renovated, modernized and restored. Others thought the building should simply be torn down and demolished.
With the purchase of the property by SRDC, and their commitment to bringing the old building "back to life", there has been renewed interest in the tremendous potential the building has to offer. This is a project worth watching!
